Hello fellow Archeologists!!!!!!
You have been given a mission to find out about a lost city. To help in your search you will need to follow the research guide we have gone over in class.
You and the members of your expedition will explore your city and gather information to complete the mission.
LOST CITIES
You have each been assigned a lost city to research.
In class, we discussed and created questons that will help you in your research.
Knowing what information you need is always the best starting place.
Look at your questions before you begin your search.
Click on the above link to read about lost cities.
What makes a city lost?
The following are a list of questions your group will need to answer about your assigned city.
In some cases, the answers to these questions may not be known.
ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS
Where is my city located?
Who lived there?
When was my city built? When was it destroyed?
How did it become lost?
Did any historical events take place in my city?
Who found my city?
Use the following links to access information about your city.
Pompeii
Skara Brae
Chichen Itza
Leptis Magna
Machu Picchu
Alexandria
Once you have researched your city go back and look at your Essential Questions.
Was your group able to answer all of the questions?
This blog only linked to one source of information. Where else could you look for information on your city?
Project
Now that you have completed your research each group is to create a travel brochure for your city.
Include all the information you found and anything else that someone looking to travel to your city might need to or want to know.
Was there a structure or artifact from your city that stands out as a landmark?
Using building materials provided - recreate this structure/artifact to share with the class.
Your creation must include a written explanation as to what it is and why it is significant or important to your city
What have you learned?
